Unicorn to supply gas dispatching solution for Serbia

The Unicorn company has won an international tender for delivery of a comprehensive IT solution for dispatch management of the gas trade in Serbia. The international tender was issued by Gastrans (gastrans.rs), the general ordering party of the newly built gas pipeline connecting Bulgaria with Hungary through the Serbian territory.

The company Gastrans put high requirements on potential contractors. Meeting the requirements, Unicorn Systems succeeded with its offer built on a proven commercial dispatching gas solution, thanks to its ample experience from a number of similar, successfully completed projects for gas and electricity transmission system operators all over Europe.

Key features to be provided to Gastrans by the new system include, among other things, the following:

Automation of mission-critical business processes of Gastrans and data interchange with its surroundings
End-to-end coverage of areas, such as contract administration, capacity management, nomination and matching processes, metering, allocation and balancing, invoicing, etc.
High availability, reliability and robustness of the system
Integration to auction platforms, ERP systems, and other information systems of Gastrans
Delivery of hardware infrastructure (including the hardware for back-up operations should the primary system fail)
Compliance with laws governing the gas industry

Besides the system itself, the delivery also includes all the hardware necessary to run the system, plus associated application service, operation, and development activities.

About Gastrans

Company GASTRANS d.o.o. Novi Sad is established for development of the project for construction and operation of a transmission gas pipeline through the territory of the Republic of Serbia with annual capacity of around 13 bcm of natural gas and length of around 400 km from the border with Bulgaria to the border with Hungary.

The Project after its completion will become a new gas supply route to Serbia and other countries of South East and Central European region. Given the increasing demand for natural gas in Europe as well as the need for diversification of gas supply sources and routes the Project will contribute to increasing flexibility and security of gas supply, stimulating demand for an environmentally friendly source of energy in the region.
